A Letter from Tidewater Friends of Foster Care

By March 10, 2019 News

Dear Friends,

You might be aware of an article that recently appeared on the Virginian-Pilot website about foster care problems in Norfolk. We all know that foster care can be a complex issue and that locally and across the country the foster care system needs many more resources than it receives. This is why our mission to enrich the lives of children in foster care, and increase the number of foster homes, is crucially important.  It is thanks to the success of our first partnership in the City of Norfolk that we have been able to expand our programs to now also serve Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Portsmouth. Working together, we continue to make a difference for children in these four cities.

It is critical at times like these, when there is negative news, that we redouble our efforts to build on the positives that foster care can bring to children and families. Clearly, there has never been a greater need to support foster children and the foster care process.  We greatly appreciate your energy and support. We ask that you please continue to help us fulfill our mission.
